March 9, 2019 - Bold without being overpowering. Balanced, not to acidic. Peppery, a subtle hint of leather.

June 5, 2018 - Deep colour. Alcohol 15.3%. Thick rich fruit on nose , bit brutal. Better on palate with alcohol there but not dominating. Rich but reasonable balance. Not really my style but decent wine.

August 5, 2017 - No formal tasting notes as this was the third bottle of a long evening. Gave this a quick splash decant and it was drinking fine immediately. This is a fairly big wine for a blend but it drinks easy with a nice mouth feel and decent structure. This is really drinking well right now. Hard to believe it will get much better than this. Drank a 2009 Pahlmeyer Proprietary Red a couple weeks ago and it wasn't significantly better than this. A nice bottle for the money and in an ideal drinking window. Drink up!

July 7, 2017 - I could drink this every day. There is an alluring ripeness to the black raspberry, cherry, cassis, and saddle leather aromas. Lovely weight, depth, and complexity in the mouth. Rich and supple, beautifully structured, with lots of briary spice, and a fruity attack that shifts to a herbaceous back end. A shot of espresso turns to licorice on the long, flavorsome finish. Fantastic.
