March 20, 2014 - This really needs air to show its best. Full ruby, with loads of glycerin, but also with plenty of character and typicity for this blend. Chewy cassis, pipe tobacco, smokey, creamy oak aromas and flavors. Dense, with with enough lift to help it power through a peppery, spicy flank steak. The 15,2% abv is mostly integrated, the tannins, medium, as is the finish. Nice for what it is. Drink thru 2018

PnP, served double-blind. Best with one hour in decanter.

February 23, 2014 - Very thick. Velvet color like something Lincoln might have word. Cherries on the finish. Coco anf licqurice on the nose. Maybe a few more years.

December 22, 2013 - Served as the 'special' at a country club. Mid-priced wine. Pleasant surprise.

Full bodied. Good legs. Lots of fruits coming through. Doesn't have a lot of depth or sophistication, but at this price, a fine value. Perfect for restaurant consumption because it doesn't require much time to open up.

December 20, 2013 - Very similar tasting experience to the '05 Jayson I opened in '09. The acidity is too sharp in an unappealing way, and the mid-palate is hollow. Weak nose. Expected better based on other CT tasters. -87pts

Update: This redeemed itself on the second night, it came together nicely, enough for a 90pt score.

November 22, 2013 - Plum and cassis, great middle, lots of complexity and intensity for the price point
