April 22, 2020 - Drank over 2 days at home. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of garden rose, earth, red cherry, ripe strawberry. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.3%), chalky medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of spicebox, red cherries, ripe strawberries, earth, stony minerality, hints of black cherry cola/licorice. Long earthy finish.
Very good quality. Fairly simple, easy drink. Old World kinda style. Drink now, no need for further age. Could pass off as a pretty good Village Burg.

June 26, 2019 - Lighter body than previous bottles. Might be past its prime.

October 9, 2016 - Deep dark red colour. On the nose smoke and spice. Lovely full palate with spice notes, meat and sour cherries apparent at the finish. Soft tannins, this is a quite characterful drink and completely different from the Burgundies and Aussie pinots with which I am familiar. Very enjoyable drink.

May 10, 2016 - This wine was a little strange to me. Hanging on to the idea that this one is a bright, airy pinot. But alas it is not. It's NOT a very full bodied pinot, but neither is it light. The two notes that continue to repeat themselves are clove and grilled meat. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but when you expected something more like raspberry sorbet, it's a little shocking when you don't get what you expected to get. Opened to some dull acidity that kind of broke into the middle and really ramped up in the end. Clove and grilled meat on the front and middle. Hint of dirty raspberry towards the finish. The middle of this wine actually went really well with pickles, and did a very good job of complementing the tuna salad sandwiches it was served with.

June 20, 2015 - Still a little closed, but heavy on the nose with black pepper and fresh cherries, with hints of floral and savory. Cranberries and cherries reign on the palate with great acidity and umami throughout. Hints of cocoa on the backend and a finish that goes. Could use some time, but still enjoyable! From a demi-bottle.
