November 18, 2017 - Prior bottle was almost 16 months ago and this wine has developed almost exactly as I'd hoped. Earthy blackfruit, cigarbox and mineral notes on the nose. Nearly full bodied (14.5% ABV) and opened about two hours ahead of time and drunk over the course of five total hours. Bright, but nicely integrated blackfruit upfront (especially blackberry and black cherry) with deeper plum behind and impressive mineral/earth/integrated spices into and through the finish. Showed noticeably better balance between fruit and structure as compared to the prior bottle. Tannins were fine grained and nicely integrated which allowed the fruit (in combination with the mineral notes) to really shine. The mid-body of the wine was round and elegant and overall integration had also improved, most noticeably from the mid-body to the finish. Based on the fruit and structure, this wine has several more years of life ahead of it, but this feels like peak to me. I'd drink it over the next 2+ years so as not to miss it.

August 30, 2016 - This took a good 2 hours of decanting to open up, but when it did... nice.

Plush and round for a Washington cab, reminding me more of Bordeaux than say a Napa cab.

July 25, 2016 - Blackfruit, earthiness and mineral notes on the nose. Nearly full bodied with good tannic structure. Dusky blackfruit upfront with deeper, richer notes of plum and currant behind. Adds some brighter notes of blueberry and blackberry heading into the finish where it shows earth and spices. Based on where the structure is now and the balance with the fruit, this wine still has some time before peaking. It's very drinkable and enjoyable now, but given another year or so and I expect to see further integration and even better balance.

April 17, 2016 - Excellent well-made wine. My bottle tasted new and fresh the first evening. After a night in the refrigerator, the remainder was still good, but the fruit had ebbed considerably. Would likely have faded more if left on the counter. So, if you like your wine fruit-forward, probably better to drink sooner than later, especially if you're not going to drink it the first night.

December 28, 2015 - Cocoa, blueberry, blackberry. Dusty tannins. Still quite young but very approachable. Should improve over the next five years at least. Nice balance.
