February 16, 2020 - Such a nice wine. Shows that Aussie chardonnay can age well. I just wish I had kept a couple more bottles to try later. What impresses with this wine is that whilst the brightness has mellowed, the fruit and oak have kept in sync. Lovely

February 8, 2019 - Screwcap. 13.5%. Moderate yellow colour, not yet golden. Very rich expressive nose of roast nuts, grilled fruits, citrus elements robed in power and richness of oak lactones, a serious nose. Then the palate really shines. There is concentrated fruit that has integrated all the elements of acid/oak into a harmonious whole. It is rich with fruit depth, citrus elements married to lees components and a long finish. I have carped over many a stripped out chablis wannabe australian chardonnay - this is the real deal, matching Burgundy at its best. A 15 year wine under screwcap I suspect. A tour de force and scored appropiately.
Tighter, more minerally and grapefruit flavour on prolonged standing - choose your point of entry.

April 4, 2018 - Medium green tinged gold. Funky nose with roasted hazelnuts, lemon, mandarin zest, gunpowder and smoke. Sweetens and tightens up with air and you get some roasted pineapple and cashew nuts. Very leesy texture provides wonderful mouthfeel. Like it, and shame this is the last of six. Even better day 2, tighter with more smoke and minerals (whatever that means). Would give this a brief decant if time permits.

September 13, 2017 - If anything this wine is getting better with age. There is lemon, grapefruit and peach, with some restrained power. The acidity is fresh and sits nicely with the fruit. The oak adds a nice textural element. The wine has a nice long finish. Enjoyable, and still has a few years ahead.

January 10, 2016 - Everyone enjoyed this wine. In comparison to the Mersault we had before the fruit in this wine was a little sweet up front, but was still quite fresh. However the wine finished really well with the oak and acidity adding structure. The wine has quite a rich mouthfeel. It still has some life left.
