Community Tasting Notes 2

September 16, 2014 - A very interesting white, which was kind of stuck in a rut a bit before it had some significant time to air. This is a white wine that you decant. Plain and simple. This wine was opened and poured initially. The palate was all crushed rock and a little bit of kiwi. That was it. After it was allowed to sit for about 2 hours and warm up to just about room temperature, this is where this one was showing its best. The wine still had a nice minerality and acidity on the opening (very dull acidity). But the crushed rock minerality kind of died rather early and gave way to a very nice floral (lilies, tulips) and graham cracker. This wine finished with a nice integrated kiwi, melon, lime, white pepper, and a hint of sweet oak. I think this wine probably has the staying power for probably 5-7 years from now. This wine was a surprise given that I was expecting a much more blah experience. I don't think the price gives the appropriate experience, and I feel that for a lot less money you can get something rather similar to this.

December 1, 2012 - Le Grand Tasting; 11/30/2012-12/1/2012 (Carrousel du Louvre, Paris): Mostly made out of Roussanne but don't expect to get as much as in Grand Veneur La Fontaine. Very candy-ish too!
