November 12, 2023 - It has the ripeness which speaks to Italian but not the tannic bite that speaks to Chianti or Piedmont, nor the rusticity that I’d associate with wines further down south. Rather dark and concentrated fruits, the heat here I feel, is well managed and not overbearing. It is a good wine, objectively speaking, with the stuffing and elements there, though not in a style I’m in love with. I should learn to appreciate wines like this more.

November 11, 2023 - Same bottle as Melvin. Well balanced with ripeness and acidity pointing at the South of Europe. This was too late in the evening for more insightful notes..

November 10, 2023 - Wines from regions starting with B: Another wine that was cloudy and not quite clean. Sweet fruit with tar and a tannic bite that led everyone to guess Nebbiolo. Wasn’t out of place in the line-up today.

December 4, 2021 - Superb wine in the prime of life. Such fun to open a jeroboam for a party. I must have been lucky as this wine could have improved over at least another five years.

February 17, 2021 - Very open ruby tone. The nose despite the clear evolution still shares a breeze of euchalyptus, damp earth, a medicinal note and some burnt pine needles. All still there though clearly hanging by a thread. The palate sadly is almost gone with the elegance being clearly replaced by a flat profile absent of any adjectives. You can find a set of drying and sour tannins through the médium finale. A wine past its prime with some interest on the nose and not much more....
