June 19, 2022 - Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 90 minutes. Nice woodsy nose with pleasant dark fruits of cassis, blackberry, and black raspberries, savory, Italian spices. The palate is pretty well balanced, tart black cherry and blackberries, fine grained tannins and well developed oak. Got better over a couple hours losing any hints of heat that might have been there earlier. Most importantly my Dad really liked this. 91+ to 92pts. Probably at peak. Last bottle of four from 10 years ago. These were quite the buy back then.

December 22, 2021 - Nice dark cherry nose. Deep purple. Cellared well. Well received by a guest who will only drink wines that are 93 or above.

September 16, 2018 - Very dark red/purple color. PNP, small taste. Big, with blackberry liqueur, dense, full bodied and showing its alcohol today.

November 6, 2016 - Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank 2 glasses over an hour. Black currant, blackberry, oak nose. The palate is dense, full bodied, blackberry liqueur, black currants, dark chocolate, fig, chewy, dusty firm tannins. There's plenty of oak still and a bit of heat on the finish.

November 22, 2014 - Very dark purple red color. PNP with aeration from bottle. This had cassis, blackberry, dried spices, vanilla, and oak on the nose. The palate is full bodied with firm but polished tannins. Similar palate that has just a touch of heat and some youthful oak. This improved markedly over 2 hours. Will try to update day 2. 90+ to 91pts.
