July 16, 2010 - Medium garnet. Pungent, aged and rich nose of cedar, overripe cherry, menthol, tobacco (Figeac), sweet pickle. Light bodied and carried in the mouth by light and insistent acid. Flavors favor cranberry over cherry, tar, bay leaf. Finishes tangy and a little sour, repeats the cranberry fruit well. Bottle #4 of four, and figured for dead once discovered misplaced in the cellar among Caymus cabernet sauvignons.

August 30, 1991 - With Halina at lunch at SRO. Rich ruby robe. Thick. Lovely floral nose. Peppery fruit. Dense, earthy and full on the palate. Spicy, rich. Tannic finish. Fine. 5-11-15-7: 88/100.
