    October 16, 2017 - Not a great bottle.

May 2, 2017 - 1974 RIDGE YORK CREEK SPRING MOUNTAIN CABERNET SAUVIGNON- cork taint in the nose followed by minimally redeeming coffee and sweet dried cherry and plum flavors.

June 22, 2016 - Deep red, barely showing 20 years of age much less 40. Some good curranty fruit, sawn wood, cedar. The fruit is intact but quite dry and, coupled with ample tannin, presents a somewhat austere facade. The structure here will go on for a long time but the friendliest days are behind this wine.

June 14, 2016 - Absolutely loved this. Tasted double-blind, I was in Northern Italy right off the bat given all of the sweet fruit, plentiful spices and floral notes and of course a deep, enchanting canvas of earth notes on which everything was artfully displayed. On the palate, more of the same, with this brilliant balance of sweet red fruit (which for me was more Sangio in nature than Cabernet) and soil notes that just screamed purity, class. The color had me thinking mid-90s if that's any indication of how this is holding up. Tannins still holding on fine, as are the lovely, cool acids; both will likely outlive the fruit, so best to drink sometime soon if you're holding some. Treasured moments tasting this wine, treasured moments. highly recommended

PnP, cork came out whole, but looked fully soaked.
