  June 14, 2012 - Nose of butterscotch, caramel and licorice. Same flavors on the palate noted as per the tasting three years ago. Syrupy caramel, some hazelnut and bittersweet chocolate. Paired nicely with chocolate layer cake.

  May 4, 2009 - Butterscotch, caramel, coffee and sultana raisin on the nose. Mostly caramel with a bit of hazelnut and bittersweet chocolate flavors for the palate. Thick and syrupy finish, not typical port. A welcome nightcap during the recent cold spell.

  December 27, 2008 - Brought by Steve, picked up in Australia. Good tawny. Caramel color, some heat on the nose. Massive nutty finish was a huge plus. A bit hot, a little syrupy. But that finish made up for it. Very glad to have tried it.

  May 15, 2001 - Penfolds Tasting with the Wine Society (Old Trafford): Pinkish light caramel colour. Rather undistinguished nose - dilute tawny port characteristics, and suggestive of a bit of age in the blend. Certainly well made and with a good balance. Smooth and clean on the palate, with notably raisiny characteristics. Sufficiently different to port to make it interesting, but perhaps a little unexceptional.
