June 14, 2020 - Not blind
Reluctant in nose, decanted half bottle for the first day for 1 hour. Some red berries, black currant but more calm and elegant. Ripe Tannins, great acidity structure, the next day a bit more opened. Not at his end. 93 -

December 6, 2019 - Tasted double blind. This paled next to the Sassicaia 2001 but also on its own it wouldn’t have been able to sing. It’s fairly closed and muted. It doesn’t seem ready. I wouldn’t touch this wine for 3 to 5 more years in hope for a better experience (or is that all and the wine will never be much better?).
TN: Muted nose not showing much. On the palate classic Bordeaux with the earthy, herbal and mineral component at the core with some red fruit alongside. Not overly inviting and not that complex. Structure is fine with round tannins and a well-integrated acidity.
Decanting : Decanted for roughly 2.5+ hours. Maybe more would have helped here -

November 3, 2014 - Tappo lunghissimo. Bene.

January 28, 2012 - same notes as 12/16/2011. Jessica and Doris enjoyed since the tannins were resolved. Anna liked the 2006 Pino de Biserno better because it had more pronounced tannins.

December 16, 2011 - Delicious. After one hour decant (lots of sediment) opened to a full nose of dark fruits, herbs and earth. Drinking wonderfully at this point although a bit tight. Well balanced, silky, flavors of dark berries, cassis, oak and earth. Elegant and refined. (Doris 90: Plums, cassis, chewy, rich. Thought it was a young wine, surprised at 2001)
