April 21, 2024 - I popped and poured this but have been taking my time with the glass. This pours a deep purple with a bit of bricking on the rim.

Blue and black fruit aromas burst from the glass when first poured and then chill out a bit. Kalamata olives and some wood. Hints of brett lurking in the background.

This is really nice. Perfectly ripe black and blue berries. Well-integrated tannins and a nice acidic backbone to keep things balanced. Medium body with tertiary flavors coming through behind the slightly more prominent fruit.

Overall a really good wine that is probably on the downward slope of life. Should keep drinking well for another 5 years or so, but I don’t think it will get much better.

January 27, 2022 - This bottle had some effervescence, oddly. But still yummy. Not declining as quickly as I would have guessed, either. 13.2%

March 19, 2021 - This bottle showed lovely high-toned and savory aromatics. On the palate, acid and tannins conspired to shorten the finish, but a fatty piece of lamb helped to unlocked some flavor. Nice but not amazing.

November 30, 2020 - different experience this time - much better on day one - blackberry, blueberry, slightly smoky and good with stew. On day two, it was flat and not very interesting. Good for a West coast Syrah. Drink now.

November 13, 2020 - On the elegant side of Syrah. Good combination of red fruits and peppers and savory flavors.
