September 2, 2019 - A bit on the decline but if the bottle has been properly stored, it can give a lot of pleasure. Open and drink without ox.

June 24, 2007 - Like the previous poster I found this a little lacking in depth and complexity and hence austere. Whilst still enjoyable, it failed to impress. I suspect vintage has played a big part, as this seems to be a consistent theme to the Bdx 1988's I've tasted.

February 28, 2007 - I have tasted the 1988 Château Soutard from a 375 ml bottle purchased recently (hence I have not cellared it myself). The wine in this bottle was dead. The tannins had calmed down just to reveal that all the fruit was gone and you were left with austere, boring aromas. Not recommended.
