June 18, 2022 - The 2001 Hudelot Noellat Romanee Saint Vivant is something that seduces you right away from first sip. Complex and fragrant array of sweet cherry, gorgeous spices, and fragrant wood smoke. Grand cru intensity with beautifully laced ethereal bouquet. Reminds me of the ethereal Dujac 1996. Sublime! (93/100)

May 18, 2022 - 2/12. For my birthday. Ludicrously overpriced now at £800+, but purchased en primeur for a mere (!) £150. A lovely, very clean, light-coloured wine with a rich & satisfying floral bouquet, although a touch of alcohol shimmers through (14% on the label). Very similar on the palate, so very clean and quite rich. Reasonable length, but modestly overwhelmed by the alcohol, perhaps. I wonder whether another few years might resolve this slight imbalance? Overall, very pleasing.

February 7, 2021 - The most refined of the flight, high tone red fruit and superb mouthfeel. While I would have liked to see some dark fruits to complement the red, the refinement and texture was so regal, it was clearly wine of the night.

September 14, 2020 - Really lovely harmony, some dilution yet still a wow wine, so tasty, vibrant, complex and rich and juicy.

(Alain Hudelot-Noëllat Romanée St. Vivant) Intriguing, focused, tart strawberry, baked strawberry and mineral nose with just a touch of barnyard; excellent, elegant and deep tart strawberry, red fruit and mineral palate with depth and lime acidity; medium-plus finish 94+ pts.
