July 13, 2016 - Opened and decanted just ahead of pesto chicken pasta and watermelon mixed salad. Pale, cloudy ruby color. Perfumed nose brings juicy citrus notes, spring violets, intense cherry blossoms, cherry hard candy, and fresh rhubarb. The palate is medium and juicy with a compact frame, bringing orange rinds, fresh strawberries, raspberries, ripe cherries, wild herbs, lavender oil, and some candied watermelon notes into the finish, which is lengthy, firm and dry. This is ahead of peak window so hold until 2018+. Exceptional quality wine for the value done in a classic Burgundian style (from Marin to boot!).
