July 30, 2023 - This had the richness and salinity of a Savennieres, but with citrus elements and the pithiness of lemon/lime skin on top of everything and into the finish. This was just so complex and balanced all through each sip. Just plain wonderful. I don't know how long this is supposed to go, but it seemed in a great place now, yet after almost 13 years not like it diminish anytime soon. I simply don't have enough experience with these, but I have the impression this will be fresh and just as complex for at least 5-10 more years.

June 14, 2022 - Dull yellow. Muted aromas at first, but then distilled spirits, honeysuckle, lemon, and a little soil. Medium weight, not nearly as glycerine as many Loire Chenin Blancs. Powerful, penetrating lemon acidity at its core surrounded by distinctly waxy texture and downplayed fruit. No oxidation whatsoever. Wow, very unique wine. Who knows how long it will take the fierce acidity to finally fold in.

June 18, 2021 - Matchstick, almond and citrus nose.
The palate is lively with a hint of wood. Almond and citrus dominate on the palate but I feel it's still a bit compact. Beautiful freshness, balanced, with a nice impacting finish.
It's very pretty, it has a "connoisseur's wine" side in the sense that the style is asserted -

April 30, 2019 - (@ The Morris, SF, with Paul Einbund) Wow, among the best chenin blanc-based wines I've ever tasted. Super-complex nose of beeswax, with cinnamon notes emerging. Wonderful mouth-coating palate, with great length, superb acidity, rich while still be light, very full mid-palate, round. Honeysuckle, almonds, citrus. So great now, so much future potential. With the incredible structure of this wine, I could imagine it aging 20 or 30 years.
