• Deux Chevaux Does not like this wine:

  March 8, 2015 - Tannic at first quick taste, but with some rich fruit. Then decanted 24 hours and left in the open decanter at 62F. It then became overwhelmingly and astonishingly tannic. Not our style.

I mention it because I'd have placed it dead last given the bone-searing tannins here - the kind that make your head-spin, and not in a good way. While this clearly has a future, it's not clear if it's got enough fruit to outlive the tannins and acids - the kind that walk all over your tongue with bitter sandpaper clogs before they switch to sandpaper ice skates, that is. Aerate to decanter for 2 weeks before serving ;-)

  December 3, 2012 - Big nose. Almost Rhonelike, a la Chateauneuf. Inky and heavy but with good depth and underlying acidity. Not at all closed as feared. Not hughely complex at this stage but easy to drink. Great with fat food due to the high alcohol and old vine acidity and depth.
