February 16, 2019 - A private dinner with old friends (Oxford): Short decant. This was disappointing. Nothing but darkness and licorice on the nose, earth and acidity on the palate. We left it for an hour and came back to it but no real change; just dominated by acidity with nothing to balance it out. With roasted veal escalope.

July 24, 2017 - This wine didn't show so well on this occasion. Still tight, structured, pokey acid and just a little lean. Cool, austere and not playing ball. Another few years to relax and unwind I think, it might never reach the heights of the 10 or 12 but it should come around.
