November 23, 2017 - Well worth the $25 and a great bottle to bring to a Thanksgiving gathering (especially when others were drinking $6 Merlot). I kind of kept this away from the bar and doled it out to folks who appreciate a better pour. Still solidly in the drinking window, dark fruits, spice, nice finish and paired very well with the turkey and all the trimmings.

December 24, 2016 - Very solid wine for the crowd at Christmas Eve dinner. I bought the magnums from WTSO for exactly this kind of gathering, when you want to serve something different but not too expensive because most of the guests are busy socializing not wine geeking. Classic dried fruit, soft tannins and decent finish pairing well with the feast my wife prepared for 16 of us.

December 23, 2016 - From magnum, our first and only from WTSO. Decanted for about three hours before consuming. Pours a beautiful garnet without sediment. Nose is on the brooding side with dark fruits (black and red) with reasonably assertive brambly and gamey elements. Matches on the palate with a nicely balanced structure comprising medium acid and thick medium tannins. Finishes decently long.

Lacks clarity somewhat, but certainly a fun and easy paring with food. A particularly fair pairing with charcuterie. Salami or soppressata really bring out the red berry elements in the wine. We would certainly buy this again at $25 for a magnum. "Very good," 89/100.

September 5, 2016 - My husband opened this last Friday. I am sure it was fine, but I wasn't here to taste it. He pumped it with Vacuvin, and we drank it today. Slightly oxidized. Advice: drink it up in one night. Don't save this one.
