January 20, 2014 - Rutherglen - Chambers & Campbells: {375ml, screwcap, 11.3%, A$15} A naturally-occurring botrytis style, made rarely (last time was in 2000, apparently). The nose is all honey and botrytis marmalade characters, yet the palate, despite full sweetness, lacks overt botrytis influence. It’s surprisingly rich none-the-less, with enough acidity to maintain freshness, although without real depth of quality to promise long cellaring. Honey, marmalade, apricot are the flavours; this is pretty attractive, especially at the price.
