November 29, 2019 - Donne peu au nez, en bouche, goût de fromage

August 15, 2016 - Aroma of dark cherry and liquorice. Quite intense on the palate, with the same dark cherry fruit. Nice acuity and dryness. Ripe style, lacks the elegance from other vintages. Still nice, however.

March 14, 2013 - Chianti Classico tasting- the black rooster crows at the dawn of a new age (Allerton Hotel, Chicago IL): Nose: There is a good dose of oak on the nose along with tones of wood spices, dark red fruits, and herbs.

Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium acidity and some wood tannins. The oak is noticeable on the palate, but it isn't as overpowering along with wood spices and dark red fruits.

Overall: The oak is definitely obtrusive on the nose, but it seems to pull back on the palate. This is a solid CCR, but the oak is a bit too influential.

March 14, 2013 - Extremely balanced, elegant. Fruity, with good acid, structure. This is a very well crafted Chianti Classico.

February 18, 2013 - Anteprima Chianti Classico 2013 & Toscana IGT (50 TN inside!!) (Firenze (Italy) - Stazione Lepolda): 5% Cab. Sauv. and 8 months in barriques.
Nicely spiced fruit at nose, but a bit disapponting at taste, with alcohol and tannins disjonted from fruit.
    Will probably get better.
