February 4, 2023 - JUST a touch of potting soil and earth. Seems a touch tight? After a bit, a full nose / palate experience. A hint of black pepper at the end. Has some heat, though this is a pure wine. Finishing with some cough meds. Everyone trying to prop this one up given the $ we spent. @ Gramercy Tavern

July 5, 2022 - A bit of a disappointment, probably due to high expectations. Not completely ripe, and I felt a bit too extracted. Does not have the usual elegance of pinot noir. The wine itself was otherwise well balanced, with nice tanins and a long finish, but was saddly far from meeting our expectations.

February 11, 2022 - This came out later in the evening and followed among other bottles of absolutely excellent Raveneau Clos 10 and Bouchard Reignots 02. We splash decanted the wine and followed it over an hour. Very initially there was this 11 harshness in the form of faint green notes and a slight hint of ashtrey. This all blew off though quite quickly. A very fine boned wine was revealed with crystalline purity, very symmetrical and gorgeous mouthfeel. A wine that despite all those qualities did lack the fruit intensity of the other great wines that evening. It's probably a better wine at this point than the Chambertin 11 which to me felt harsher. It's also a wine that needs another 5-10 years and I would be very curious to retaste it and see how it develops.

December 5, 2021 - SLDS Decadence 2021: On the nose there is mineral/slate, spices, red cherry, raspberry and other red tinged fruit - swirls with aromatic purity and lift. Lovely palate, with the acid driving the red fruit flavours into very long length. Has started to hit its straps and was just inching ahead of the 2011 Chambertin with time in the glass.

November 1, 2021 - Needed a fairly long, 3+ hour, decant to open up. Overall, the producer outperformed the vintage and this was an enjoyable wine. The 13 Rousseau Ruchottes and 13 DRC Richebourg in the same lineup were better from nose to finish.
