Community Tasting Notes 9

August 31, 2022 - Pop and pour yesterday. Singing. On the nose: brairy red fruit, leather, soft cola. On the palate: fantastic acidity, more red fruit, brambles, a touch of pyrazine, but easily overlooked and a tangy, juicy finish with attenuated tannin. In a good place.

July 20, 2022 - Gets a solid 90 for being a lovely mature BR. Nose has great pâte des fruits and a sous-bois/umami aspect. Still a good freshness on the fruit as well as evolved notes with old wood, fougere and slight balsamic. Nicely integrated and balanced.

August 16, 2020 - Pop and pour, notes from 45 min open. On the nose: briary red fruit, soft cola, soft plum, maybe a pyrazine note. On the palate, a touch hard, green pepper, plum, good density, and dense finely grained tannin. More stereotypically 2011 than previous bottles.

April 18, 2020 - On the nose: soft stem inclusion, vanilla, sweet wild strawberry cola, with a hint of coconut. On the palate, lovely acid, sweet strawberry, cola, brambly blackberrry, and soft tannin on the finish, which is tamgy and a bit lean.

January 15, 2019 - Day 2 open, unrefrigerated overnight. More of a sense of stem inclusion on the nose than my previous btl: briary nose, with a hint of green, but backed up by nice cranberry and wild strawberry. On the palate, excellent acidity, and very lightweight. On a bad day, maybe this would come off as thin, but today it seems lithe and elegant...the slightest hint of tannic structure on the finish. Very nice.

Day 3: Huh, last glass (again, unrefrigerated on the counter overnight), and everything came together. Somehow, the stems seem more subdued and a cherry note came out. No signs of oxidation, but best showing so far. If this bottle is representative, this will improve for a long time.
