  March 26, 2023 - Dark inky hue. Deep dark fruit, earthy, spice. Pepper. licorice, dark fruits. Juice opened and became less intense once the bottle was popped. May be past prime.

  November 7, 2016 - Decanted and poured. An elegant Zinfandel with whole cluster nuances. Not cloying or acidic but great tannic grip which I appreciate.

  November 18, 2015 - Really pretty light ruby with great clarity. Nose starts with dusty mushroom then going twords peaty iodine and light fruit finishing with wet leather. Tastes like a heavy petit verdot with strawberry pepper. Old school style except for the 14.8% alcohol is quite noticeable and I'd guess higher if I didn't know. There's a serious acid streak with pepper backing on the palate begging for bloody meat. The finish is on the thin side that seems quick but lingers a bit too long. Not in a hurry to buy any more but it gets a 90 for being so interesting.

  November 13, 2015 - Aerated with a Vinturi and decanted for one hour. Nose of cherry, mocha, spice and forest floor. Bright black cherry jam, licorice and spice on the palate leads to a medium to long finish. Full bodied with a rich, dense texture. Paired with pizza.
