May 4, 2022 - Decanted over cocktails. Super intense, concentrated Napa Syrah with fine tannins and silky body of pure black fruit. This is the epitome of this style and to die for if it's a style you enjoy.

January 20, 2021 - Decanted three hours and drank over the next two. This didn't show as magically as the previous bottle served with minimal decant; the flavors were somewhat confused. Still delicious, pure notes of dark berries, umami, black pepper, and anise. Nothing overbearing and tannins still firm.

January 5, 2020 - 5 hour decant and it needed it.

December 18, 2019 - Wow! Decanted 2-3 hours. Huge black fruits in the nose and flavor, yet an elegant syrah that matched perfectly with charcuterie and Italian sausage appetizers. Very complex with lots going on in the nose and flavor. Blackberries and blueberries with smoky notes, licorice, leather, minerals, and floral in the nose. Lots of dark berries in the flavor with blackberries, blueberries, licorice, and hints of coffee, herbal, and earthiness. Full bodied wine, perfectly balanced, and a long, lingering smooth finish. Very impressive!

January 31, 2019 - Decanted over cocktails and served with dinner. A Robert Parker 100-point wine, this beautiful Syrah bridges worlds between the old and new in a seamless, magical fashion. The nose seems to have everything in perfect balance: flowers, au jus, herbs, tar...you name it. On the palate, also perfectly balanced and evolving to a long, balanced finish of caramelized peppercorn, licorice, and dried berries. This has everything I like about Cayuse Syrahs with none of their frequently overbearing sideshows. Balance and evolution. What a wine.
