January 5, 2016 - Last of a 6-pack purchased on close out years ago. This wine has hardly changed over the years, always showing great acidity, a fair bit of structure and dusty red cherry fruits. The tannins and acid give good grip on the finish and create a nice balance. Perhaps a bit more fruit would be nice, but it does not come across as stingy or hollow. All in all, a nice drink, and one that is in no immediate peril should you decide to age a bit longer.

September 30, 2011 - Right out of the bottle, it was a bit disjointed -- lots of tannin and acid, little fruit. After a couple of hours of air however, it was really a nice surprise. Subtle flavors of blackberry and dark cherry. Tannins smoothed and the wine came in to balance. Hard to believe this wine was ten years old though (maybe the labels were misprinted!) Not familiar with this varietal, but for close-out price, it was a real bargain.

    February 28, 2010 - 5+12+16+6+50 = 89 - Excellent
dusty red color, starting to show some age...dried berries and baking spice on the nose, with some black fruits hiding in the back...fairly well integrated palate...there is really nice fruit, but the thing that really strikes me about this wine is the balance...very good QPR @ $7 (or so)
