Community Tasting Notes 2

June 22, 2014 - I enjoyed this one. Better than average. But the reserve label might be a stretch.

May 16, 2014 - The alcohol on this (15.5%) is not well-integrated to where the varietal correctness of this wine - which is apparent early on the taste is taken over by the alcohol. It was better the second night, thus the 87, which tells me it would be worth giving it another year of aging. That said, it is still not a great wine, not worth the price and certainly not worth a "Reserve" designation (I would hate to see what the non reserve wines tasted like). This is a wine "pushed" by Total Wine in its outlets if that tells you anything...I have had mixed results when they recommend an obscure winery/AVA.
