December 11, 2022 - Unlike later vintages, this bottling does not designate "La Crau" proudly on the label. Fill was 2.5cm and cork was soaked but fully in tact. Color was cloudy as expected with bricking but just the faintest of orange starting to appear. After about 60 minute the funk largely dissipated, but the past peak elements of the wine remained. Nonetheless, the fruit was not entirely gone nor reliant only upon the tannins to carry them. An interesting experiment that makes we wonder whether I should set aside one of my 2005s for a another 25 years to see what happens to it.

December 21, 2018 - The sealing wax capsule has largely disintergrated, and the cork loose, but that does not seem to have affected the wine. Quite a deep garnet, no paling at the edge. Tarry nose, floral undernotes, a touch of mothballs, even some grass. Dry, fairly acid, very long; the flavour neutral at first, then developing, minty. Not complex, but it went down very well with a pork chop.

December 22, 2015 - Good wine, no formal notes. Took a while to wake up and grenache was still perceptible.
    Good, not great.
    Drink up.

April 26, 2013 - Surprisingly alive given the low ullage and pale orange colour. Well store and never moved for 20 years helps. Just an old piece of history at this point but fun to serve with younger versions to illustrate what an old wine can be.

December 25, 2012 - Cork disintegrated when we tried to open it, so we strained the wine into a decanter and served right away. Tasted a bit off at first, but then opened up beautifully and kept getting better with every sip.
