April 17, 2022 - Diffuse but very persistent nose on crème brûlée and orange marmalade.

Palate that combines richness and suppleness and gives a Sauternes of great sapidity. Orange marmalade and burnt sugar will dominate, followed by an assertive complexity, in particular almonds, candied apricot and almost a very original salty touch. The juice is loose and fine. The finish is magnificently fresh with a long caramelized and spicy finish.

Excellent, I much prefer this type of Sauternes on finesse than the viscous bombs that weigh down the end of the meal.

November 3, 2018 - A bottle of this last year was very good indeed - but this is downright excellent. The purest, most superb rough-cut Seville orange marmalade, mineral, fresh sugar, creme brûlée crust, white peach skin, a touch of almond. Such wonderful vibrant acidity keeps the luscious palate from becoming heavy. This is so invigorating and excellent. In such a great place now.

December 21, 2017 - Wowza! In the past I would've said this wine could never quite compete with the best vintages of Yquem and Climens but this amazingly mature, perfect bottle was a thing of beauty. Ethereal in texture with flavors of sweet roses and decayed spices and a finish of soft luxurious lace and flowers with a very fine complexity. Like licking an angel...

October 8, 2017 - Just lovely. The nose here is all about the complexities of sugar - creme brulee, candied apples, creme caramel. It's not that it's over the hill (not by any stretch of the imagination), just the style. Rich, luscious palate. A pleasure to drink and in fact, it almost slips down too easily! Very enjoyable indeed and a wonderful conclusion to the evening. Brad commented that this would never be mistaken for a d'Yquem and I completely agree; the profile is so different.

June 25, 2015 - La Pyramide Dinner (Vienne - Northern Rhone Valley): Another treat tonight. Baked apple and dried apricot with wonderful caramelized notes throughout.
