May 12, 2019 - I know 2009 was a hot year, but I really wasn't expecting this. It's not overblown at all, it's just so BIG. Leans on the tropical aspects of the grape harder than the citrus, and incorporates some subtle white pepper and spice nicely. Acid kept in check on this, too, so it was really hard to stop drinking, and this was in the company of some other very, very nice wines. Was fantastic with everything from smoked potatoes to Thai sautéed eggplant to smoked mackerel dip.

April 13, 2018 - White fruit (citrus, slight peach), floral, good acidity. Slight creaminess. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.

January 16, 2017 - Aging well. Colored is showing much more straw. Good mouthfeel. Dried apricots and honey coming through. Very nice bottle.

November 21, 2016 - Forgot I had this in the cellar, pulled it out to try and it is still pretty tasty. Has a nose with lemon, baked apple, and hints of lees. The palate is fairly round and rich with some influence from the yeast, but maintains a nice freshness even at this age. Overall pretty good.

July 1, 2015 - Wow, real knockout stuff. This is not domestic Muscadet - there's not much in common besides the grape. It has the bright, pure fruit but it is put together in a much fuller style, more like a white Burgundy (minus the oak) than Muscadet. I don't say Chablis because while it's an intensely mineral wine and cranked up to 11 in that department, it's not a marine minerality. The mineral element here is volcanic (and so is the soil), bringing to mind all those cliches about aromas bursting from the glass and so forth, and it's every bit as driving on the palate. One of the top 2 or 3 wines we tasted on this trip.
