December 19, 2019 - Red currant, smoke, ginger flowers, and vr spice. Palate was dense and structured with a lengthy finish. Still very young. The latent tranperency was the highlight of this wine. 94+

April 6, 2019 - A non-Rouget-like nose, with soft spice and good definition. However, after 30 minutes the nose, and palate for that matter, trended more towards jammy although somewhat constrained given the vintage. Even in this one bottle, I can see how the range of prior comments makes some sense. 92-

November 16, 2018 - Expressive bouquet with sweet plum, raspberry, and bubblegum. Precise and energetic, with some structure on the finish. I’m impressed with the power and freshness, which runs counter to my experience with this vintage. Became more decadent over the course of 2 hours, it does have a few edges, and perhaps is not quite as harmonious as the 00 and 02

June 3, 2018 - As promised, this 97 was off the charts. Henri Jayer made the wine as Emmanuel was not able to in 97. Bright, clear and pure red fruit. Hard red candy. High toned and aromatically complex. Hints of smoke and darker fruits. I have become a believer in 97s after tonight as the 97 Jayer Ech was also off the charts.

June 1, 2018 - Henri Jayer & Disciples (15 USW): Gorgeous nose, expressive, sweet red cherry, mild dry underbrush, coffee and cola spice highlights. A certain floral character. More comparable to the light and lovely style of the ‘95 than the relatively dark ‘93. Dense, lush, and youthful palate. Gaining some earth driven texture and nuance. A certain roast tomato note that I find in Rouget sometimes. The palate here is absolutely silky. This is fantastic showing right now and is equally as good as the ‘97 Jayer Echezeaux.
