October 2, 2022 - There is something wrong with this but it is not faulty. It is 16% !! It has an harsh aggressive structure and tannin and acidity, huge alcohol but is only medium bodied, so is out of balance. Blackberry and fruits of the forest. Not pleasant to drink and I don't think it will ever resolve.

April 1, 2022 - Color: dark ruby with just a hint of brick
Nose: just beautiful sour cherry and pipe tobacco. Just a hint of raisin, and what to me is clear chicken liver. A ton of violet, fresh, bruised, and dry. Licorice root when you chew on it
Palate: medium-high acidity medium-full body. It has been tempered by time but it's still able to stand up to anything. Anything. Leather and dry leaf emerge
    Finish: medium

This is a huge worn and 12 years out, it still is not at peak I think. It has gas in the tank. Today it's a barbera that tells a story about piedmont and the quality of things done well. I am happy i have more

January 5, 2022 - Generous wood and sweet spices here. A deep colored lush wine that will please an international palate.

(Braida (Giacomo Bologna) Barbera d'Asti Bricco dell'Uccellone) Black-tinged dark red violet color; lifted, dried berry, anise, tart nose; tasty, tight, dried berry, anise, tar, mineral palate with good acidity; needs 3-plus years and should go 20+; medium-plus finish (from 53+ year old vines; 50% new oak for 1 year)
