November 24, 2019 - Jean-Pierre Reniard Burgundy Wine Seminar (Jade Palace Seafood Restaurant): Tasted in Riedel Burg glass.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of red cherries and limestony minerality. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), supple medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of loamy earth, limestony minerals, red cherries, cinnamon, woody spice. Long finish.
Good quality. Easy drink. Very middle of the road. Yes there is minerality befitting the terroir, but otherwise nothing else really exciting seeming to go on. Maybe this needs more time? -

January 5, 2018 - Nose opens up after an hour in the glass smelling of luscious strawberries and oak and a hint of spice. Makes me think of strawberry jam without the sugar and the oak is reminiscent of warm, seasoned and slightly toasty wood...most comforting. On the palette, it is quite austere and lean. Strangely, it tasted sweeter when paired with a salad dressed with a tart vinaigrette...
