  May 30, 2023 - I had no idea Dönnhoff ever did a halbtrocken from Hermannshöhle, but this is terrific and a compelling wine to sit down with over a few hours. There's burnished/smoky tinge to the flavors and a core of fruit that still feels quite fresh, with a green apple-like note on the back end adding a sense of tartness. It comes across nearly dry right now, but with a sense of lightness and understatement I've not found in the newer GGs from this site.

  May 30, 2023 - 1992 Dönnhoff, 1990 Giacosa SSR, 1994 ZH SGN (Chez V): [Pop and pour.] Lovely golden color. Gorgeously perfumed nose of flowers with a hint of honey and marmalade. The palate is stone dry. Long, complex finish with plenty of acidity. In great shape. Delicious.

  November 7, 2013 - Remarkable at this age. Honeyed, flowers, herbaceous. Quite delicious and not at all typical.
