November 4, 2015 - California's best and most versatile Grenache Blanc. This 2012 has improved in the bottle and the 2013 is as good. The style is lithe, laced with mineral and citric notes, and endowed with an intense palate and a resonant finish. Tastes great by itself and also with food.

A California trend toward lighter, less ripe, lower alcohol wines has resulted in Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays, and other varieties with a meager fruit profile, green or unripe fruit, and little or no varietal character. That is emphatically not the case here, nor with Two Shepherds other white wines (Viognier, Pastoral Blanc). These are well nourished wines (perhaps to careful sur lie management?). Congrats to Two Shepherds!

May 23, 2015 - One of my go-to whites that is easy to drink but still complex. Creamy lemon and tart apple; slight citrus notes with a great minerality; as always with Williams's wines, def acid on the back end that leaves one wanting more.

April 24, 2015 - Delicious balanced wine. Big mouthfeel, green apple, butterscotch. High acid, perfect for food now and will age.

April 10, 2015 - Quite unique take on skin-macerated wine. Big fan!

March 1, 2015 - Totally refreshing Grenache blanc! Nothing watery, blowsy, or fruit bomb about it. It begins with a gentle attack of lemon, pear, and mountain stream. The midweight mouthfeel suggests crisp apples and closes with a tantalizing kiss of biscuity lees and minerals balancing the fruit with toasty flesh. If there is an oak presence it is whatever one gets from using neutral oak.

This is akin to a French premier cru chablis. Two Shepherds wines artfully blur the Burgundy/Rhone distinction. So good with food, and so refreshing. Abv 13.4%

One bottle left of the 2012, which has improved in the bottle over the last year. Can't wait to try the 2013.

(Two Shepherds Grenache Blanc Saarloos Vineyard) Slightly hazy light lemon yellow color; appealing, focused, lemon chiffon, tart pear, apple cream nose; tasty, tart pear, white jasmine, tart apple, mineral palate with medium acidity; could use 1-2 years; medium-plus finish
