September 25, 2023 - This bottle was not as good as the prior, but still enjoyable; I thought I detected a hint of chlorine on the cork and in the wine which threw it off a touch. There was autumn leaf litter, dried cherry, and spiced tea notes. A little thin on the palate, but still with some pleasure. I suspect there are better bottles out there.

May 1, 2022 - This was excellent; I've not had many '91s, but the balance here was great and this was not really faded at all; the fruit is a bit on the dried aspect, but still lovely cherry and red currant followed by some hints of Asian spices, dried violet, some leaf litter developing. The palate is fully mature, but still delivers lovely balance and red fruit. Maybe not the concentration or intensity of a truly top wine, but this was delicious.

September 17, 2017 - Elected to not decant - slow oxed 3 hours. Translucent garnet with orange tinge. Nose has bright cherry/red berry notes as well as some earth, dried herbs. Palate has medium weight with a balance between creamy fruit and acid tartness that seems to fluctuate almost second to second, especially with food; fascinating/lovely effect. Served with pan-seared halibut (pine nut, thyme, garlic, lime zest gremolata). Drink now or in next decade or so.

September 11, 2016 - Medium weight garnet colour in the glass. A beautiful and nuanced nose of mainly red fruit - restrained cherry with flecks of raspberry - and developed earth with a mineral streak. Good intensity but in a restrained and airy way. Drinking very nicely now and at the early stage of maturity but certainly with plenty of time left. ****+

June 29, 2016 - As R&Rler said, this blt had an extra gear vs the straight multi vineyard 1er Cru. More of everything here and one of the best Burgs I've had this year. No reason to hold these but I think it will sit here for a while too. Exceptional complexity, concentration and elegance. Just ever so slightly less thrilling than the Lopez tonight but essentially a Co equal wine of the night. Love this wine and truth be told it out drank two recent DRCs, for my palate. The 25yrs blt age and excellent provenance have made up for the more humble reputation here.
