Community Tasting Notes 10

May 22, 2017 - Good secondary as u would expect in a 27 year old wine , nice and deep and lots on back palate, have long liked Rion wines, this confirms that liking

May 14, 2017 - Cloudy crimson color. Nose smells very much alive, with intense aromas of barnyard, sous bois, and pencil lead, with a very pure mineralic underpinning. The palate is similarly earthy and slightly ferric. There is ample acidity left but the fruit has receded, giving the overall impression of tart cherries or underripe stone fruit. Lots of interesting tertiary nuance throughout both the nose and the palate, but this has become a bit unbalanced in its late maturity. No reason to wait- enjoy now.

May 7, 2017 - Class, advanced secondary , to extent it looked dead when poured but great mix of old and new and thickness of c de v .

September 4, 2016 - Leather, truffle, spice. Core of ripe red fruit. Tannic and a touch acidic. Fully developed but not tired. Still deep, bright ruby despite shedding loads of sediment. Profound. (93 Excellent wine)

May 14, 2015 - Open nose, showing notes of fruit and oxidation: dry twigs, forest floor, rotting leaves, cranberry, red cherry. Palate is acid-forward and juicy, faded but lively. Flavours of red cherry, dried cranberry, and orange.
