October 2, 2021 - PnP. Weak and thin at first, but opened up in 20-30 minutes. Rich. Smooth. Cherries with some dark fruit. Moderate spice

  • Martin Redmond Likes this wine: 91 points

June 26, 2015 - A wonderful old-vine Zin! Mixed black and red fruits, licorice with a bit of dark chocolate aromas. Supple texture with mixed black and red berry and spice flavors and a giving finish

June 18, 2013 - Well those who are used to a slightly more ripe version of this wine might find the acidity a bit high. To me the nature of this wine is fantastic. The berry fruits without any oak whaft up. The wine picks up strength over 4 days in the fridge. There is a gorgeous balance and clarity to the fruit.
I always love the Louvau the best of their "normal"( as opposed to Enfante Terrible) Zins.. and to me this is the best one ever. I love it. Because of the nature of 2011, the aroma to me is more what you would expect normally from Russian River Zin than Dry Creek.. I love this wine.. with Spaghetti and Sausage..
The wine looks Purple colored. It smells like Cranberry, Red Currant, Cherry, Black Pepper, and Dill. It tastes like Cranberry, Raspberry, Black currant (cassis), Orange, Cherry, Dill, Dust, and Pine. The body is Medium. The wine has Linear texture. The wine finishes Medium.
