November 26, 2022 - [Magnum] Fresh bottle with plenty of youth and vibrance behind the developed nutty and fall spice notes. Orange zest, clove, cinnamon, but still with bruised yellow fruit. Drinking very well.

November 10, 2021 - BYOK: Dinner with Olivier (Ai Fiori (Langham Hotel on 5th Ave)): I was so excited to get to try this one. There aren't many 'great' birth year wines for '81 and this is none of them. It's beautiful. Again younger but you can tell there is some age here. It's very crisp and fresh and bright. Apparently a top vintage for Chard. Drinking well but if we had another bottle I'd be looking to pop it on a 70th birthday.

November 10, 2021 - BYOK! (Ai Fiori): No. 0584. Previous cellarmaster's favorite vintage, more chardonnay than pinot noir for a change. Green/vin jaune fruit (attributed to the style), super composed and precise. Less "flavorful" and expressive but so deep. Great palate. 94-95
