March 14, 2013 - Chianti Classico tasting- the black rooster crows at the dawn of a new age (Allerton Hotel, Chicago IL): Nose: There is good balance to the robust and upfront tones of red fruits, cherries, oak, and spice tones.
Taste: Medium/full bodied with medium+ acidity and some chewy tannins. The feel is a bit chunky with upfront tones of red fruits, oak, and spice tones.
Overall: This is a very good Riserva. There is good balance to the tones, but the oak is a bit too noticeable.
