January 30, 2021 - Opened at the beginning of the night to explore the barnyard reduction and then left to air and settle while we explored some other Loire treasures. On returning a much softer and open offering of red fruit and stone. Soft full mouth textures with just enough chewy tannins to provide some complexity. A little short that finished early but nonetheless an exceptional wine.

December 16, 2018 - Half. Dark ruby. Nicely herby, blackcurrant nose. Still quite full and vibrant. Good. ***

July 10, 2017 - Half. Very decent. Ever so slightly leafy red fruit with some tobacco leaf. Bright and vibrant with reasonable body. Copes well with a vote de boeuf and frites. ***

May 23, 2017 - Very dark purple/ruby color, almost fully saturated with a thin rim and just a dash of sediment. Very grippy and tart for the first two hours open and then the fruit showed up to the party. Cherry kirsch, bell pepper, fruit cocktail in the bouquet and the palate is suave and vibrant with acidity. I get more hickory than vanilla oak notes as the finish recedes. I think it has several years of enjoyment left in the tank. 4+10+16+8= 88

December 6, 2016 - A bit lifeless. Some burnt rubber happening but mostly quite generic. A bit sinewy and tight and lacks interest although the wine geek/snob in me really wants to like this wine. Drink now.
