Community Tasting Notes 5

December 24, 2022 - Slightly oxydized - so it gives out lots of nutty notes on the nose. The palate is still fresh with nutty notes but still plenty of bright cherries and earthy notes. Ending is medium with slight oak hints. Not a well kept bottle but a good wine overall.

October 10, 2016 - 2016 to early for 2008. Oak still hiding some of the fruit. Wait until 2018-2020

October 19, 2015 - Brunello Di Montalcino, A Fine wine Tasting hosted by Chris Pollington (Berry Bros & Rudd, London): Good red colour. Quite a bit of fruit on the nose here, red currants, light touches of dark fruit. Good acidity on the palate, not a rich fruit wine, more of a mineral side to it, young and needs time. Quite a bit of tannin here, not harsh but still very evident and needs time to evolve. A good wine and a good 90 for now from us.

February 4, 2015 - Well, sniffing the bottle on day two reveals a wonderful smell of vanilla, red flowers and cedar. Hope that holds in the glass!

It does, with some of the sweet leather smell of Brunello. Palate is still dry however. So the question becomes, is there enough fruit for teh long haul - will it de-tense on the palate eventually and become a very pleasure able wine? Or just remain dry. Sadly, I am thinking the latter.

February 3, 2015 - Perfumed and elegant, dry and lean. Lots of structure, does it have the fruit to flesh it out? Or is it just my palate?
