December 6, 2019 - No formal note, this has a better nose than palate, with red fruit and fairly balanced acidity and tannins.

December 2, 2019 - Last bottle of this wine (70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon as previously noted) but now before opening, and after sampling multiple Tuscany offerings of principally Sangiovese resplendent wines from our cellar commensurate with this wine’s price point and pedigree, I am optimistically suspicious of the longevity of this recently called into question 2009 Tuscany vintage.
Ullage 9mm above the shoulder with whiff of dark fruit on intact cork. Vanilla predominates the initial olfactory impression, with only minimal fruit, soil and dusty mushroom aroma.
Strong drying tannins with perhaps 60% of the sweet fruit experienced 5 years ago, and this then dries out halfway through the mid palate and is replaced by a swirl of summer sun spun tannins and basil on the final finish.
All in all a very pleasant wine with dinner on a snowy evening. Basil?
After 1 and 1/2 hours the deep black fruit is predominate and the mouthfeel is more luscious and silky. Exceedingly enjoyable. Case closed-this 2009 is viable and showing well after 10 years. If only there were more bottles left in the cellar. -

September 25, 2017 - Seems that the 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauv have blended impeccably into a deep flavoured classic Super Tuscan. Earthy, wood aroma (even some of the "barnyard" venerated by some of us wine geeks), medium bodied. Seems like the perfect time to enjoy this wine. Although some in the CTC found this wine to be only as good as some less costly Super Tuscans, I think that as this time, Terrabianca Compaccio 2009 drinks as good as wines from the same area at $10 higher price point.
The legs are medium. -

January 28, 2017 - Enjoyable wine, but overpriced. There are better at lower costs.
