Community Tasting Notes 5

April 17, 2008 - Perhaps this was an unusually advanced bottle. But the color was a bit more golden than I would have expected, and the nice blend of structural elements seemed a bit faded, leaving an impression of more oak than was there originally. Still a very satisfying drink, but I'd say don't hold 'em... if you do much longer you'll have to fold 'em.

April 7, 2007 - Not a huge Cali Chard fan. But this has typical characteristics and a nice flavor profile. Big, some toasted oak. Agree better than Newton. Would recommend drinkers of Cali Chard

June 23, 2006 - I agree with Parker's rating on this..94pts. Just a beautiful chardonnay Rich, balanced great fruit and well integtrated oak. This remind me of a Great bottle of Burgundy.
Chasseur and Tandem are making some of the best Chardonnays that I've tried. At least to my taste. I go by Parker and WS ratings on most of my purchases and These two wineries Chardonnays are consistently a step above Newton Unfiltered and Beringer's Private Reserve Chards IMHO. Bought several more.

April 17, 2006 - Beautiful nose, nice acidity, good finish. Perfect match for steamed lobster and clarified butter.

January 23, 2006 - This wine is in the "let's make it big!" camp of Cali chardonnays. The floral elements of the nose are accompanied by citrus notes, apple and vanilla. The palate is big... lots of oak and richness (is this what critics call "leesy"?), but also with good acidity and a very good finish. I think the fruit elements of the palate should shine through a bit more, but perhaps the wine will balance out somewhat with some age. Nonetheless it is greatly satisfying to drink and went well with a robust chicken dish.
