June 24, 2022 - As others noted, wine reflects a tough vintage. Opened 45 minutes before pouring through a Vinturi. Needed another 30 minutes in the glass to open up. Before opening up, the wine was tannic and bitter. Over the next hour, the bitterness faded and the score reflects my view once more open. Some blackberry and spice with nice acidity over a truncated finish.

February 9, 2020 - This was much better after being opened for a day. Ton of spice notes with a little oak.

February 8, 2020 - Give it a little time. It’s a pretty delicate for a syrah. A lot of subtle notes that take time to express.

November 15, 2015 - Youth full bodied zesty wine. Purple and black fruit. Decanted 90 minutes. Very fresh. Stands up to food. Decent finish.

October 1, 2015 - A bit of a muted nose, with purple fruit and vanilla aromas. On the palate, some blackberry, plum, spice, and vanilla.

Obviously the challenges of the vintage showed through in this Syrah, with a relatively thin and monolithic mouthfeel. Texturally, a bit of a bore unfortunately. Nothing like what one would expect from the usual bold, rich Lewis Syrahs. A "good" Syrah, but by Lewis standards, a bit of a miss.

Drink now, as I don't think time will help this wine out at all. Drank like a $20 wine.
