  January 3, 2011 - Beautiful ruby orange color, bricking at edge. Impressive, powerful nose of nutty oak, flowers, berries, and minerals. On the palate, there is good concentration to the flavors, and a definite power to the delivery. The excessive new oak influence adds a bit of rough wood tannins on the finish, and detracts from the elegance of the wine.

  December 10, 2010 - Transparent, brilliant ruby with fading at edge. Nose is fairly powerful, exhibiting nutty oak, flowers, dark red berries, minerals, and wet leaves. Medium full on the palate, with a rich concentration to the flavors. Good fresh acidity, slightly harsh tannins, and a bit of oakiness all contribute to the medium long finish. A modern style wine with a bit too much oak. The oak is in fact a bit overwhelming, interefering with the natural elegance of the wine.
