  October 6, 2022 - Rather lifted nose with some VA. Deep palate, super silky, cranberry, a hint of bitter chocolate, really fine acid here, concentrated and pure fruit. Really silky and deeply focused. This is a laser of red fruit, concentrated, focused, tannins still hiding in the background but largely melted. Resolving quite nicely. That said, for all of the purity and focus this has to offer, it lacks some of the complexity and earthiness that I am used to finding in some wines from the region. Still quite lovely.

  June 4, 2016 - Similar in color to the Guardiola; nose here also displays red fruits (raspberry?), but also seems more floral, for lack of a better descriptive.
  
  Also light-bodied - I do like how Franchetti seems to keep the wines light while not compromising on ripeness. Also presents young - I guess the real question here is how these wines will eventually age/develop. I have yet to try one that didn't seem like it would benefit from more time in the bottle.

  February 19, 2016 - Great winery. More lithe than the Porcaria but still an Etna killer. Black cherries, crushed slate, dried rose petals, smoke and ash with a hint of anise and red apple skin. Medium tannins and pronounced acid (good with food). Love this producer and another nice Contrada bottling.
