August 9, 2022 - Ahh…! It’s always a pleasure to enjoy this “lost grape” wine. Even at 10 years old, this Chilean wine is still holding strong. Perhaps the screw cap did its magic after all. Red fruit aromas are still intact with a hint of smoke. Flavors of raspberries, plums, and blackberries seem to be equally balanced. This medium bodied red wine has a bit of leather in there that lingers while the acids are mild. It is a great start to finish wine. Enjoy!

March 22, 2016 - Tastes like a Brett infection. Disgusting overpowering barnyard smell and tastes sour.

Was really looking forward to this wine. Stored properly too. What a shame.

February 23, 2016 - Definitely Carmenere. Herbal, slightly green, but there's more to it than the stereotypes. Also present are aromas and flavours of cassis, raspberry, and cocoa. Structured with big tannins, a full body, and good acidity. Makes me want to try more Carm, whether another bottle or vintage of Root:1 or a different producer. Outstanding value.

December 19, 2015 - Fruity. Good tasting for the price.

November 15, 2015 - Medium bodied, soft tannins, good acid. Plump red and dark fruit, a bit of spice, oak, and possibly chocolate. Very good value. Despite having low residual sugar its medium-dry.
