February 9, 2018 - When I opened the bottle the nose was quite hard. Decanted for two hours and than it came alive. Still very fruity for a wine this age.

November 29, 2015 - Definitely showing its age. Quite strong acid. But interesting favors and certainly not dead yet.

  • Lype Likes this wine: 90 points

October 9, 2012 - Not as refined as the -75 riserva, there is Bordeaux-type barnyard roughness here, fairly good anyway.

September 10, 2012 - A highly promising first sniff before much swirling. But developed a way greener, cork taint reminiscent (probably some type of the flaw, but a bit different).
Aromatic and well balanced. Dark fruit, meat, leather, stone fruits, graphite, herbs, mushrooms and tea leaves both on nose and palate. Long and velvety. But the green apple peel meets thinner character really strengthening with time.
So, clearly a huge shame it wasn't ok.

May 19, 2012 - allowed to stand up for 1 day before pop-open; a lot of mold under the foil; the top half of the cork was dried out and the cork moved into bottle with slight force; luckily the molds were cleaned before I tried to open with AhSo; slight cherry fruits initially but faded around 30 mins; smooth and drinkable; much less enjoyable and over sour after 1 hour; poor conidition
