August 9, 2022 - i continue to prune the cellar of bottles with past due drink by dates. brought to cucina fresca restaurant. shared with Pat and Ruth G. Ruth was treating us to dinner to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. paired with classic Italian food. upon opening, the wine showed the slightest hint of oxidation which blew off quickly. some sediment adheres to the side of the bottle. eleven years after the vintage, the description offered by the winemaker upon release still holds true. (posted on winesearcher) vibrant ruby color and cherry notes on the nose and palate. we did not finish the bottle so that i could drive home safely. 11/28/22 finished off bottle 15 weeks later. some oxidation but still interesting. the wine put on some weight. small amount of fine sediment in last glass. will wait a year before enjoying last bottle. will do a vertical.

March 1, 2021 - Tail end of life, but drinking nicely. Tannins barely there, and barnyard nose on opening. But has settled down and there is enough fruit to be ver enjoyable. Paired well with pasta fagiole.

January 10, 2021 - Dusty, dried herbs. Nice medium acidity and fine tannins that supports the cooked cherries and blackberries on the palate. Well integrated and in peak drinking window. Just lacks some depth and pizazz to push into the 90 point range.

August 4, 2020 - Bright red cherry fruit - prominent and exuberant. A little kirsch. Dried herbs in the background. An opulent style Sangiovese-based Super Tuscan. Plush and smooth. Just enough acidity to keep this from becoming flabby. Good value.
